When Should I Take Emergency Contraception?

Emergency contraception works best when taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex, ideally within 5 days. It will not work if you are already pregnant.

Sooner is Better

Effectiveness decreases the longer you wait, take it as early as possible.

Not for Regular Use

Emergency contraception is not a replacement for daily birth control methods.
